Looking for a hospital bed for pulmonary care, lung care? There are several
hospital bed models that we sell that include a feature called “Percussion – Vibration“.
This feature has are bladders and a special pumping system that “thumps” the upper
chest cavity area and in many ways replicates what a respiratory therapist would do
directly to a patient in a hospital.
“Pulmonary” is defined as “relating to the lungs” and thus these pulmonary care beds models have the “percussion – vibration” feature to help break up upper respiratory
congestion from the lung area. These beds are used for patients with pulmonary fibrosis,
bronchitis and pneumonia along with other lung related ailments.

Hill Rom TotalCare Sport 1 and Hill Rom TotalCare Sport 2 Bed
This hospital bed model made by Hill Rom started as a “Sport 1” and later was
changed to a “Sport 2” when minor changes were made to the operating systems
and mattress system with a low air loss feature was added to the Sport 2. Both the
P1900 TotalCare Sport 1 and the P1900 TotalCare Sport 2 bed models include a
“percussion – vibration” feature which provides a pulmonary care system which
has the mattress thump the patients chest and both include a chair position to help
the patient sit up and breath easier.

Stryker InTouch Bed with XPRT Mattress System
Stryker also makes a pulmonary care hospital bed called the InTouch bed and
although it can be outfitted with a “Position Pro” or “XPRT” mattress only the
“XPRT” mattress system has the “percussion” and the “vibration” feature for
pulonary care. This bed model also sits into a chair position and has a touch
screen control which makes it an easy system to learn and use much like the
Hill Rom P1900 TotalCare Sport bed models.
